Kailua Paddling Regatta Season
We are looking forward to the 2027 Hui Wa'a Regatta Season, and registration will open in February 2027.
2026 season was a great year of not only individual crew wins, but club victories in the single A division, and we hope to build on the momentum from the 2027 season.
The traditional regatta paddling season starts with pre-season long-distance races for those interested in long-distance paddling, with sprint regattas starting in late May, running through the Hui Wa'a Championship and State Championships in August.
We welcome anyone, adults and keiki interested in paddling. No experience? No problem — we offer novice programs and coached practices for all experience levels. We begin practicing for the regatta season in March of each year, and the season runs through August. The program is open to paddlers 8 years and older, including adults with or without experience.
Our club includes a diverse group of paddlers, from those new to the sport who have never paddled to veteran paddlers. The club has paddlers from 8 years old to 80+ competing in Hawaii. So you're never too young or old to join the amazing tradition of outrigger paddling!
If you have questions about the club or paddling season, please visit our contact page and complete the contact form, and we will reach out. We look forward to hearing from you!

It is our goal to allow and work hard to give every paddler the experience of racing in regattas. Our mission is to provide paddling opportunities for both new and returning paddlers seeking more experience while balancing the age groups. We will do our best, based on the age mix of the children, adults, and experience, to include you in regattas.
We understand. Please just make sure to let the coaches know of any conflict with practice or regattas as far in advance as possible.
We welcome adults, keiki, and anyone interested in paddling. No experience? No problem — we offer novice programs and coached practices for all experience levels.
